Oklahoma Rifle Association is Against Your 2nd Amendment Rights

The Oklahoma Rifle Association is once again trying to kill your Second Amendment rights in Oklahoma. Please contact them and ask why they continue to have the same views as the ANTI-GUN Moms Demand Action. In 2012, they (OK Rifle Association) tried to kill the open carry bill in the same way they are trying to kill constitutional carry. This letter (below) was emailed to every state senator today. Please send the Oklahoma Rifle Association an email and/or give them a call to express your dissatisfaction with their actions. Their office phone number is 405-374-9262.

Oklahoma Constitutional Carry

Constitutional Carry: It’s Now or Never

SB1212 will be heard tomorrow (Wednesday, April 25)! It’s time to call your legislators and politely ask them to support and coauthor SB1212. There is a ton of opposition to this bill. Countless organizations have used their influence in an attempt to persuade people to contact Oklahoma representatives and law makers to vote against constitutional carry. The Daily Oklahoman and the OKC Chamber of Commerce have grossly misrepresented what is contained in the bill in order to mislead the masses and to get them to side with the anti-gunners.

2nd Amendment Day in Oklahoma

2nd Amendment Day is Here!

Be at the Oklahoma State Capitol for the rally of the year. We will meet at noon on the 4th floor Rotunda to let our legislators know we want our rights back that should have NEVER been taken away. Remember, we must speak to these legislators respectfully. We can be assertive and respectful at the same time. Raising our voices and allowing someone to pull us into a shouting match is counterproductive. We need to let the opposition allow their emotions to get out of control while we stand our ground with facts, logic, historical precedents, etc. We have liberty, truth, and facts on our side so we have the advantage!

No Compromise—It’s Time to Take a Stand on Gun Control

Even as the nation was grieving the terrible loss of life in Parkland, Fla., gun control activists were doing what they do best: exploiting tragedy to advance their political agenda. Gun control activists are pushing a message that you are to blame for the criminal violence that took place last week. They’re attempting to capitalize on this tragedy to convince members of Congress to vote for their gun control wish list. Rather than address our broken mental health system, our inability to provide proper school security, or numerous failings by law enforcement and others to identify a clearly dangerous individual, their solution is to blame the NRA, and America’s 120 million law-abiding gun owners. America’s law-abiding gun owners have been and will remain a force for good, order, and safety in their communities.

Peruta v San Diego County

Supreme Court Declined Conceal Carry Case

The United States Supreme Court declined to hear  Peruta v. San Diego (a conceal carry case), which involved San Diego resident Edward Peruta, who challenged his county’s decision to deny him permission to carry a concealed firearm outside his house. Despite the support of two Supreme Justice Members, the case was rejected due to a policy that a case needs to be approved by at least four justices in order to get on the Supreme Court’s docket.

Exercising 2nd Amendment Rights at OU Basketball Game

On December 19, 2017, Don Spencer (President of the Oklahoma Second Amendment Association) purchased a ticket to the OU basketball game with the intention to attend the game while carrying a (legal) pocket knife into the basketball arena. OU has a “policy” that does not allow anyone to bring in knives or any type of weapon into the arena. Upon entering the arena, everyone must pass through a security station much like you would do at the airport. Everyone must walk through a metal detector and empty their pockets to ensure that no one will bring in contraband or weapons. We have been receiving reports from OK2A members that OU security personnel have been forcing people to return to their vehicle(s) to store their pocket knives in their vehicles because of their restrictive policy regarding knives and other weapons.
